Tuesday NBA playoffs results, analysis: Thunder analyze Mavs; Celtics' depth shines

Even with Jayson Tatum sidelined, the Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 on Tuesday.

The Dallas Mavericks lost with their star player, Luka Dončić, struggling against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder's Game 1 win over the Mavericks reversed midway through the third quarter.

After the Mavericks sliced a nine-point halftime advantage to one, Mark Daigneault substituted Isaiah Joe for Josh Giddey

The Thunder rely on Giddey, but his presence crunches the court and his jumper was off.

Floor spacer Joe made a 3 on his opening possession. After Luguentz Dort, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Chet Holmgren made 3s, Joe went on a 14-4 run in his opening three minutes. OKC ran away.

Giddey's minutes will matter throughout this series. In Game 1, he started but played 17 minutes and was minus-7. Joe was a plus-12 in 15 bench minutes.

Wallace made two 3s and guarded well. With 16 points in 19 minutes and multiple hustle plays, Aaron Wiggins may have been the Thunder's third-best player.

After parties at Met Gala 2024, Shakira and Kelsea Ballerini wear less.
