Alica Schmidt, track star dubbed 'world's athlete,' qualifies for 2024 Olympics

Three years after having a difficult time in Tokyo, German track sensation Alica Schmidt—dubbed the "world's sexiest athlete"—qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Schmidt was a member of the squad that advanced to the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 mixed 4x400-meter competition.

New York Post reports that Schmidt celebrated the achievement with multiple posts on her Instagram Stories.

Schmidt celebrated with her teammates on Tuesday by taking a tour of Nassau.

They were swimming with some pigs on the island, according to a post she made on her Stories.

Schmidt is a top-tier track athlete competing in Europe. She assisted the German squad in winning a silver medal at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships in the 4x400 relay.

Schmidt's squad, the European Athletics U23 Championships, brought home a bronze medal.

The squad would place sixth at the European Championships in 2022. She did not qualify for the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, nor did her team.

She declared in 2021 that she was "taking a break" from the sport following her Olympic disappointment.

In 2023, Schmidt was listed as one of Forbes' 30 Under 30. On Instagram, she has over 5 million followers.
